What is CEAM?

CEAM Tabarca is a Hostel and Environmental Education Centre on Nueva Tabarca Island, located on Nueva Tabarca Island (Alicante). It was opened in 2006.

Launched as part of Alicante City Council’s strategy, CEAM is a centre where accommodation, education, and environmental awareness are bro.

This is not just a place to stay. This is a centre for experiencing the Mediterranean with respect and understanding.

OUR MISSION

The CEAM centre offers one- and two-night stays in Tabarca, with experiences alongside that promote education, awareness and a deeper understanding of the island’s natural, marine, historical and cultural heritage, and of its surroundings.

CEAM is much more than a hostel. It is a hub for sustainable experiences where you can explore marine biodiversity, discover local history or gaze at the stars from a location untouched by light pollution.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

Tabarca Island is surrounded by the Tabarca Marine Reserve, one of the most important protected marine spaces in the Spanish Mediterranean.

CEAM’s activity follows principles concerning:

  • Applied environmental education
  • Protection of marine and terrestrial biodiversity
  • Raising awareness of sustainability issues
  • Responsible use of resources
  • Low-impact tourism

FACILITIES

The CEAM Tabarca hostel ensures a comfortable, accessible stay that respects its surroundings. Designed with sustainability in mind, it combines the comfort of modern lodgings with the environmental commitment that’s at our project’s core.

Facilities:

  • Multipurpose hall for workshops and mealtimes (for 30 people)
  • 1 large dormitory with bunk beds, toilets and male and female showers. For school groups: up to 30 guests. For adult groups/hostel stays: up to 15 bunk beds.
  • Grassy courtyard with sunshades, tables and chairs.
  • Free internet and Wi-Fi.
  • Air conditioning and heating in all rooms..

The accommodation is available for school groups, families, organisations or businesses, with the option of programmes with or without overnight stays.
The centre’s design promotes social interaction, learning and connection with the island’s natural surroundings.
